Dave Harland - Chief Executive, Omnicom Media Group
Dave has worked in advertising for over 20 years, starting out in SSCB:Lintas, moving on to head up the Irish operation of Initiative from London, before heading back to Irish shores to open up a local Initiative office in Dublin. Dave parted company with Initiative in 2005 for the new challenge of founding OMD as a standalone media agency. As Head of Procurement, Dave was responsible for negotiating large scale deals for clients such as Diageo, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Renault, Fáilte Ireland and the Irish Times. He also forged a role as a leader in developing innovative media partnerships and added value initiatives with media owners. The growth success of OMD prompted Omnicom Media Group to launch an Irish branch of PHD in 2008. Dave took the role of CEO of OMG, responsible for media procurement at group level as well as leading the overall group strategy. This role allows Dave to leverage the size of both agencies to negotiate better deals for all clients in the Omnicom Media Group. Dave is a graduate of Durham University. In his spare time Dave wonders if Sunderland will manage to stay out of the relegation zone and enjoys playing the guitar.
